| It was my daughter's last year of college and her last
vacation before she was about to enter the real world. We decided it
would be a good time for father and daughter to share one last vacation
together before that big leap into life. Early morning ground fog
envelops you in Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park
and you can feel its coolness whisking by your face. Jen and I
experienced that mystical, serene feeling as we traveled through the
meadows and woods that morning. She knew now why this is such a special
place for me. What an extraordinary moment that was. I wanted to
preserve the feeling we both had from that special time together. As we
were nearing the end of the cove, I spotted two fully developed trees
nestled next to each other in an open field with the fog hanging above
the silhouetted limbs. I took my photograph of Father and Daughter. She
got the first copy. She cried. |
