| About to undergo a medical procedure, I recall a doctor
telling me to try to create some kind of calming mental image. This
could be one of those kinds of inner visions. It's really not a fantasy,
it's Weatherhead Hollow Pond in Guilford, Vermont. It was late in the
afternoon on a sunny October day, the right time to catch the waning
sun's yellow light illuminating the hillside of Weatherhead Hollow. At
the time of my arrival the hillside reflection in the water was
exquisite. The sun was setting rapidly. I looked to my left and saw the
ducks headed my way. Just in case they did not make it in time, I
exposed a couple of frames without them. The "photography
gods" were on my side this day. I waited with anticipation as the
ducks made their way into my field of view. Click. Click. Click. I had
my shot! |
